It is the role of the nutritionists to develop and provide effective guidelines for addressing such demands towards promoting the nutritional health and well-being of individuals and societies at large. As a nutritionist, meeting the said outcomes for an individual or a client is the ultimate objective and calls for the use of a nutrition and coaching regimen. Provided herein is a description of nutrition and coaching regimen for a client, highlighting some of the essential elements and factors to consider in the application of the regimen.
Findings from Collecting the Preliminary Client’s Information
An assessment of the client based on the Initial Assessment and Triage Questionnaire revealed no alarming health conditions, with the only concern being to maintain the increasing body weight to match the doctor’s recommendations for well-being. The client’s goals included improving their appearance, physical fitness, embracing healthy eating habits, and losing the excess weight. The client desires to reduce his high intake of calories by improving his poor eating habits characterized by his high consumption of a variety of fast foods for his meals. The client wants to adopt a healthy eating habit and complement the same with routine physical activities. It also came to my attention that the client comes from a family with a history of obesity, and the fact that he is physically inactive is a risk factor for following the same unhealthy trend. A summation of the assessment identifies the client’s main objective or goals as becoming healthier and gaining physical fitness.
Client’s Level and Reason for Choosing the Level
An analysis of the client’s assessment indicates that he has little knowledge and understanding of the importance of embracing a nutritional wellness regimen, which qualifies him for level one nutrition and coaching model CITATION ISS19 \l 1033 (ISSA, 2019). The client’s physical inactivity is also reflective of the client’s need for fundamentals of nutrition and coaching, as defined in level one of the same.
Limiting Factors
The client’s limiting factors for reducing the excess weight and high intake of calories are identified to be the poor eating habits and lack of the essential life skills to help in the adoption of healthy dietary lifestyles CITATION ISS19 \l 1033 (ISSA, 2019). Binge eating, failure to follow a regular eating schedule, heavy intake of sugary beverages while taking his variety of fast foods, and attachment to processed foods are some of the client’s poor eating habits identified as the limiting factors. The lack of basic culinary skills to prepare simples meals even for breakfast, impulse buying of processed foods, and heavy alcohol intake due to peer pressure are some of the inadequacies in the client’s life skills that challenge his quest for nutritional wellness.
Outcome Goal
Among the outcome goals for the client include reducing body weight by five kilograms to reduce the overall weight from 120 to 100 kilograms in the first four weeks. The client also seeks to reduce the intake of junk food, reducing body fats, and eat more whole foods. Reducing alcohol consumption and the intake of sugary drinks also makes for one of the client’s outcome goals. Another outcome goal for the client is to become more physically active.
