Mr. TA is also divorced, lives alone and is a school teacher. Competency in Assessment Nursing education teaches student nurses the anatomy and physiology of the larynx (Lungova & Thibeault, 2020). The larynx is responsible for voice production and airway protection during swallowing. Knowledge of vocal cord function and the surrounding musculature was used to explain hoarseness in speech (Boggiano et al., 2022). Laryngeal pathology also complicates recovery from GERD, hence slowing recovery in affected individuals (Brar et al., 2022).
