The Communication Research Methods
Please identify the communication research methods used for each of the two studies we read this week: Dailey et al. (2016) and Lee & Lin (2016). Next, review both results sections for the use of any correlations or regressions. Describe at least one specific place where you found a correlation and one specific place where you found a regression. Comment on whether you think the tests were appropriately chosen in these instances. Be sure to tell us why or why not. Are you able to easily interpret the correlations and regressions in these articles? Why or why not? Please report any difficulties you have so we can all work together to solve them!

LW11 600 Discussion Communication research methods incorporate diverse methodologies, including qualitative, quantitative, and rhetorical options. In the context of the two studies for this week, Dailey et al. (2016) and Lee and Lin (2016) employed the same research method, a survey, to execute their study. This technique best suits data collection from large samples using reliability and validity-tested scales, as depicted by the research methods sections of the two journal articles. An exploration of the result sections of the two articles highlights the use of regression in table 3, where Dailey et al. (2016) estimates fluctuations. The application of the approach emerges as a correct one because it fits the use of assisting the researchers in understanding the relationship between time (independent variable) and challenge and acceptance (dependent variables). The class discussions indicate that regression’s primary use is establishing a linear relationship between two variables. Additional review of the two materials also revealed the use of correlation in Lee and Lin’s (2016) article. The authors applied this analytical approach i...
