REQUIREMENT:

Consumer PSE Product Roadmap & Product Strategy Definition, Analysis, and Generation from an existing company with the currently available product(s) and services in the market that has achieved multiple versions for release and a defined user base of customers.

A documented analysis of a company's current or previous commercial or consumer product or service and corresponding user experience (PSE) with established user/customer base, examining the company's core product or service design, product strategy, product versions, user/customer cohorts, user experience, go to market strategy and product release roadmap for the PSE in depth.

Assignment Instructions:

Assignment composed of two (2) deliverables, including

a) definition of a company's product, service, and user experience PSE portfolio over either a 2 or 4 year period timeline in product roadmap format

b) a summary of how the company is achieving product relevance with its users/customers and any recommendations for increasing said product relevance across its product roadmap.

Each student is requested to identify, analyze, review in detail, and assess an established company's current or previously released product, service, and corresponding user experience (PSE) with an established user base and audience and generate a corresponding product roadmap reflecting the findings.

a) Full Product Portfolio Roadmap: Identify, research, evaluate, analyze, and document an in-depth analysis and findings summary of a selected company's full PSE's product portfolio including all product lines and identifying product versions, intended/actual user base for each within a product roadmap;

b) Top/Best Product or Service: Identify, research, evaluate, analyze, and document all users, cohorts, and user/customer bases associated with the company's highest-value PSE (to consumers, via volume sales, product longevity, number of versions, consumer appeal, etc.) PSE, both targeted and unanticipated;

c) Compare Strategies: develop & define the inferred, intended, and/or targeted Product Strategy for both the company's full product portfolio, including all lines and their top/best specific PSE offering, comparing the two, and determining if the same strategy applies or if a different strategy or innovation cycle was defined for the top/best PSE offering;

d) Provide Analysis & Findings: Summarize research, analysis, and evaluation information and findings into a documented summary (Word, PDF) and presentation (PowerPoint, Keynote) and submit by the delivery date

Assignment Structure, Format:

(note: in addition to the below requirements for submission, each team is welcome to introduce their own unique process that satisfies the overall assignment objectives) as follows:

a) Detailed research, analysis, and findings summary and graphical illustration/representation of an established company's current or previous product, service, and corresponding user experience (PSE) as a progressive, release and version driven linear timeline product roadmap;

b) detailed product roadmap description and graphical illustration/representation of the product, service, and corresponding user experience design, development, marketing & management operations, including all versions of iterations of it over the PSE's lifecycle, its intended (targeted), and actual user base and customers;

e) findings summary (results) of the described PSE's lifecycle, product strategy, and UX performance (to date), user affinity/reception, time in market performance, revenue measurement, and end-of-life (conclusion) planning
