Brian Robinson was a young boy who flew to Canada to visit his father. He was the only passenger, and when suddenly the pilot gets a heart attack, Brian has to fly the aircraft. Due to his inexperience, the plane crashes in the forest (Harry, J. 2018). Brian did not have much knowledge about wildlife because he used to watch films of friendly animals jumping around the forest. Now he came to learn that many animals, including insects, were dangerous. He allowed insects to feed on his flesh without knowing they would cause harm (Hatchet, 2019). As soon as his whole body swollen, he understood that there were harmful animals in the forest.
Secondly, Brian learned how to use available resources for survival. The novel highlights that Brian was raised in a city and his little knowledge about wildlife came from films. Brian learned how to survive within 54 days after the plane crash. His mother had given him a Hatchet, which he uses to gather food and to survive in the wood (Steve. D. 2016).
