Introduction
The choice of the methodology of study for any researcher significantly depend on the purpose of their study, which is raised by the questions to be answered. While many reports adopt a common structure, how the researcher addresses the different sections helps one to conclude whether the research was effective or ineffective. Background
The introduction section comprises the background section, in which the researcher provides a basic understanding of the topic of study. The authors highlight their problem statement in terms of the objectives that they desire to meet in the study. They note that the purpose of hteir study is to attain a more indepth understanding of what being a nurse in a homecare context entails. They state that their main aim is to gain insights into the nurses experiences in handling older adults in terms of the (a) experiences, (b) attitudes(s), (c) ways of dealing with ToL.
Purpose
The authors provide a clear purpose of their study in their abstract, which helps the reader understand what the entire research is about without the need to engage in extensive reading. Since their target was to assess the nurse experience, which is a phenomenological concept, a qualitative study approach was more suitable.
Research Questions
The research questions emanate from the purpose of the study, which entails identifying the nurse experience in dealing with the issue of tiredness of life in older persons. However, these questions are not clearly stated. Without a clear statement of these questions, it is difficult for the reader to have a clear picture of what the research will focus on.
Congruence to Research Tradition
Methodological congruence refers to the fit between the research problem and the question, and also the fit between the research question and the methodology, as well as the methodology and the data. The research design was an explorative, qualitative, and constructivist grounded methodology. A constructivist grounded theory (CGT) is a qualitative research technique that focuses on understanding and exploring a social process in which there is insufficient theory to explain the concept. Adults experience of tiredness is a social process with limited research. While previous studies have focused on nurses experience with different illnesses that this population handles, tiredness have often been assumed.
