Axworthy, Michael. Revolutionary Iran: A History of the Islamic Republic. , 2013. Print.
* Summary
In Revolutionary Iran, Michael Axworthy guides us through recent Iranian history from shortly before the 1979 Islamic revolution through the summer of 2009, when Iranians poured into the streets of Tehran by the hundreds of thousands, demanding free, democratic government. Axworthy explains how that outpouring of support for an end to tyranny in Iran paused and then moved on to other areas in the region like Egypt and Libya, leaving Iran's leadership unchanged. The Iranian Revolution of 1979 was a defining moment of the modern era (Axworthy, 247). Its success unleashed a wave of Islamist fervor across the Middle East and signaled a sharp decline in the appeal of Western ideologies in the Islamic world. Axworthy takes readers through the major periods in Iranian history over the last thirty years: the overthrow of the old regime and the creation of the new one; the Iran-Iraq war; the reconstruction era following the war; the reformist wave led by Mohammed Khatami; and the present day, in which reactionaries have re-established control.
* Analysis
Throughout, the author emphasizes that the Iranian revolution was centrally important in modern history because it provided the world with a clear model of development that was not rooted in Western ideologies (Axworthy, 164). Whereas the world's major revolutions of the previous two centuries had been fuelled by Western, secular ideologies, the Iranian Revolution drew its inspiration from Islam. Considering there is only one author of this book, this source is quite objective rather than biased. The purpose of this source is to help examine the revolutionary Iran. The audience of this source is anyone who is interested in learning more about the revolutionary Iran.
* Reflection
This source basically gives the backdrop of revolutionary Iran and how United States helped throw put Iran Shah. It as well goes in depth to explain the revolution of Iran. This source is helpful because it provides a lot of information on the revolution of Iran Shah. It will help me shape my argument on how USA threw Iran shah in 1979 and assisted Khomeni. I will be using this source to support my argument in the research paper. It is different compared to my other sources in how the author emphasizes on the ideas of revolutionary Iran.

Alvandi, Roham. Nixon, Kissinger, and the Shah: The United States and Iran in the Cold War. , 2014. Print.
* Summary
In July 1980 in the sweltering hest of the Egyptian summer the funeral cortege of Mohammad the last shah of Iran slowly wounded its way through the streets of Cairo. Thousands of soldiers escorted the Shah. The world leaders were not invited to the funeral of Shah who had fled Iran following the popular revolution that toppled Pahlavi dynasty and established the Islamic Republic (Alvandi, 432). Only the Egyptian president, the former president of United States and the exiled king of Greece witnessed the burial of Mohammad Shah. In this revisionist account of US-Iran relations during the Cold War, Roham Alvandi provides a detailed historical study of the partnership that Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi of Iran forged with US President Richard Nixon and his adviser Henry.
* Analysis
Dr Roham Alvandi is Associate Professor of International History at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is the author of Nixon, Kissinger, and the Shah: The United States and Iran in the Cold War. This source is objective and not biased. The purpose of this source is to see the progress of United States and Iran in the Cold War. The audience of this source is basically anyone who's interested in this subject area, like academics, political science and economics. The perspective of this source is the revolution of Iran Shan and how United States assisted Khomeni.
* Reflection
This source provides the background information on the United States and the Iran in the cold war. I will use this source in my research paper, in order to provide the background information on the cold war that existed between United States and Iran. This source is different compared to my other sources as stated above by giving us background information on United States and Iran Shah in general.

COOPER, ANDREW S. C. O. T. T. Fall of Heaven: The Pahlavis and the Final Days of Imperial Iran. S.l.: PICADOR, 2018. Print.
* Summary
This book gives an immersive, gripping account of the rise and fall of Iran's glamorous Pahlavi dynasty, written with the cooperation of the late Shah's widow, Empress Farah, Iranian revolutionaries and US officials from the Carter administration. The Fall of Heaven is a well-researched and in-depth study of Iran in the years leading up to the Iranian Revolution of 1979. While the focus is on the Pahlavi family and the last Shah of Iran, the author also explores the many complicated political machinations, history, and cultural perspectives that influenced the revolution. Sources for this book range from Pahlavi family members and allies to their political adversaries (Cooper, 203). Such breadth of sources allows for a very holistic view of events. The failings of the Shah as a leader are explored, while debunking the sensational propaganda instituted by his enemies. This book is appropriate for those with little knowledge of Iranian history and those looking for a deeper exploration of the events that led u...
