Working Title: Monsters in the Fictional Fantasy Society
Working Thesis: The paper focuses on the roles of werewolves in the society of fictional fantasies.
Background: When I was growing up, and until now, I have heard numerous stories and watched movies about werewolves. Some films portray hybrid humans who can transform themselves into werewolves. One thing I have observed from how werewolves behave in movies is that they go in packs. Every pack has a leader who protects all members of the pack, and when conflicts arise, they address them together. The werewolf tradition has been exemplified in numerous novels in fictional fantasies, and it makes those narratives interesting to read. In some novels and movies, werewolves are presented as dangerous monsters. In others, they are peacemakers, and their presence indicates sympathy. In some cases, werewolves are shape-shifters who safeguard the society of fictional fantasy. For instance, some movies depict numerous monsters, but werewolves appear to be the only species that eliminate the danger in society. Werewolves bite and kill the enemy. In most cases, werewolves assume secondary characters in movies and stories. They present a united pack mentality and image of violence, which is more beast or harmful than human. However, the fascinating thing about these creatures is that they do not bite everyone and are peaceful. They become violent when provoked. In some stories, werewolves act as agents of growth. In that light, since I have read and watched numerous films about werewolves, I aim to understand how werewolves are important in the society of fictional fantasy. I like fictional fantasy and knowing the roles of these creatures is crucial to me. I want to comprehend the different roles that werewolves play and explore their meaning. That is why I chose the topic of werewolves' roles in the society of fictional fantasy.

Fantastic metamorphosis is a crucial ideology to teach young adults and children about significant transformations in life. Specifically, fantasy literature is crucial since it symbolizes change, which is an essential part of human life. For instance, childhood, maturation, adolescence, and adulthood are important stages of life that might be challenging for children and young people to understand. However, fantasy literature enables young individuals to know about werewolves and other creatures that signify role and body transformations. For example, the articles depict that there exist sympathetic, idealized, multicultural, and monstrous werewolves. These different types of werewolves portray distinctive characteristics and behaviors that act as lessons for young people. For instance, monstrous werewolves are harmful and bite humans even for no good reason. Similarly, young individuals understand that some situations have adverse consequences in life, and nothing can be done to change reality. As such, the best thing to do is to learn how to live with such conditions. Besides, this article is useful in my research since it shows how monstrous characters, such as werewolves, can teach young people how to lead fulfilled lives. By assuming different characteristics of werewolves, young individuals can learn numerous things that would help them in their real lives. As a result, werewolves have good and bad sides, meaning that young people can acquire various lessons from these creatures by understanding their roles in the society of fictional fantasy.

They make humans assume their beast form through bites, and individuals in fictional fantasy appear to leave with the fear of being infected. In particular, the transformation of these creatures shows the fragility of the animal-human border and the concept of aggressive and uncivilized beasts residing in humans. Female werewolves are scarce. In the Gothic genre, women werewolves are perceived as figures of deviance instead of frightening monsters. Many cultures do not present females as having body hair or violent. Female werewolves undermine gender appearances and identities, while male werewolves threaten culture and nature. In the fantasy sub-genres, female werewolves are re-invented as characters. The article is useful in my research since it focuses on the position taken by female werewolves in the society of fictional fantasy. Despite numerous studies discussing werewolves as mono-gendered species, this article separates male and female werewolves. In that light, the author portrays some of the roles and perceptions of women werewolves in the fantasy world. Although they are rare, these creatures exist. However, the characteristics associated with werewolves, such as aggressiveness and violence, appear to be absent in female werewolves.

Tania Evans focuses on werewolves as Gothic monsters. In reality, werewolves are known to be dangerous creatures that are violent and can bite when provoked. The shape-shifting nature of these creatures makes them assume the human form, meaning that they have emotions. In most cases, werewolves are not harmful when in human form. However, the situation changes when these monsters transform into werewolves since they cannot control the beast inside themselves. On that note, studying the nature and character of werewolves in the Gothic genre can help individuals understand various concepts that entail transformation from one stage to another. Indeed, the article is important in my research since it shows how werewolves' transformation can be compared to what people face in their daily lives. Life comprises numerous transformations and some things that humans cannot be controlled. As such, the same way werewolves are good in human form, but they are monstrous in beast form, people behave in similar ways during varying situations. Evans discusses various things about werewolves, such as masculinity, emotions, gender identities, shape-shifting, and lycanthropic experiences. These things deepen one's understanding of werewolves and their roles in the society of fictional fantasy. Moreover, they depict how humans can deal with specific situations in life without showing their bad side, just like werewolves are good when they are in human form.
