Introduction
My selected topic was sustainability and justice in education, exceptional education. The topic is vital since it offers insights into advocating and creating equitable education through overcoming barriers and systemic inequalities in the community. Addressing systemic injustices in society promotes social justice and provides equal opportunities for all, regardless of ethnicity, gender, or race. The topic relates to my field of study in sociology since social justice is a pivotal area of interest. As a sociologist, the topic catalyzes social change and promotes social justice. The topic will guide policymakers in making informed decisions on the policies that must be implemented to enhance equality for all students.
The research process was vigorous since I thoroughly analyzed viable sources for the work. The sources were available online through databases such as Google Scholar and the school's online library. The decision on the selected documents was based on their relevance to my selected topic. The articles used for the annotations are scholarly reviewed peer articles that provide insights into sustainable education. Researching both sides of the issue was intriguing since the authors provided valid, evidence-based arguments to support their stances. Before conducting research, I was inclined to support the argument promoting sustainable learning and inclusivity without focusing on the needs of children with disabilities. After the research, I changed my mind about inclusivity since the findings indicate that special needs learners should receive specialized education catering to their needs.
I learned that it is essential to include non-credible sources that need more depth and objectivity to describe a topic clearly. The sources differed in the data quality since peer-reviewed articles were accurate and relevant to the given topic. However, non-credible sources are needed to meet the purpose of the research topic. I was surprised that non-credible sources should have considered the timeliness of the information provided. Instead, they used outdated information, while credible sources used timely information. Exploring both sides of an issue will equip me to incorporate problem-solving methods, critical thinking, and decision-making based on evidence from my academic, professional, and personal life.

Afzal, A., & Hussain, N. (2020). The impact of community service learning on the social skills of students. Journal of Education and Educational Development, 7(1), 1-18. https://doi.org/10.22555/joeed.v7i1.2988
The article investigated the impact of community service learning on students' social skills. The act of acquiring knowledge comes from the models of Plato and Aristotle, which the education system emulates to create model citizens in the community. The competency of service learning is based on the values an institution wants to inculcate in the students. The article argues that service learning is based on the argument that service learning provides privileges to others while benefitting from others' amenities. People act because of intrinsic motivation to act according to the conduct supported by society. This motivation shapes the current notion of service learning since it is motivated by the need to feel associated with a given group. The article involved findings from O-level students in a service learning program in Pakistan. The findings noted that awareness to promote community service within learning institutions is anchored on the premise that it provides learners with additional credit points while making them better members of the society.
