Now that you have selected a topic for your final presentation, this week you will need to construct your annotated bibliography using APA style. For this assignment, you need to select a minimum of 8 sources that you plan on using for your presentation and then construct the annotations for each source. The concept of constructing a bibliography is certainly not new for most students, but you may not be as comfortable adding annotations to the bibliography entries.



After you select a source and reference it in APA format, construct the annotation for the source. The annotation is really just answering a few questions about the sources itself and once you answer these questions this part of the assignment almost creates itself. Answer the following 6 questions for each source:

In the Civil Rights Movement, King Jr. was an influential figure. He was just a Baptist minister who coordinated peaceful demonstrations to champion African Americans' legal equality. His contributions have been remembered in American history even now, and he helped African Americans obtain more equality and rights. Since there have been recent demonstrations against racial profiling and police violence against African Americans, I considered Martin Luther King Jr.'s strategies and contributions to civil rights movements to be an important subject for nonviolent protests.

Clayborne Carson, a reputable historian and an author at Stanford University and the Director of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Research and Education Institute (p. 15), is a trustworthy source for the task, in my view. Carson discusses the occurrences surrounding the Montgomery bus resistance. This article target individuals who want to know more about what happened during the embargo. This source's ultimate goal is to show the effects of King's teachings influenced many African Americans. Instead of resorting to bloodshed, people decided to listen to King and peacefully protests. King Jr.'s leadership, Carson concludes, entailed more than "motivating oratory" (p.5). Carson concluded that the boycott was a huge success by demonstrating King's nonviolent protest tactics' effectiveness and importance.

Sally Avery Bermanzohn, Ph.D., is a professor and an author at Brooklyn College (p. 31). King's policy of peaceful protesting was motivated by brutality in response to racial injustice. This article aims to learn more about the background and origin of Martin Luther King's friendly demonstration strategy and social reforms during the civil rights movements. According to Bermanzohn, the creation of King's design remains the movement's most important achievement (p. 31). The main goal is to show how powerful nonviolent protesting can be and why Martin Luther King Jr. was such a significant figure in this movement. Since Martin Luther King Jr.'s main aim was peaceful boycotting and advocating for progressive transformation, I used the article in this task.

Thomas F. Jackson is a historian and an associate professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Greensboro (p. 16) regards him as a trustworthy source for such a project, in my opinion. Jackson explains how equality and social reforms for Black people In America are not the first things King struggled for during his lifespan. He describes how King campaigned for African Americans' justice in social services, labor relations, higher salaries, school finance, and welfare. The main goal is to cast doubt on how King campaigned for other issues in the black community besides teaching nonviolent protesting tactics. Jackson concludes that fair wages, environmental justice, educational equality, and affordable housing are still challenges that Americans face today (p.10). I picked this article since I agree it is a trustworthy source for highlighting Martin Luther King's many campaigns using civil rights movements.

John A. Kirk is a history professor at the University of Arkansas and an author. Little Rock (p. 329) renders him a reputable source for such an assignment, in my opinion. Kirk lays out King's leadership history in this post, starting with the Montgomery bus boycott and ending his murder. The intended audience desires to learn King's leadership history and accomplishments and history before his assassination. In his paper, Kirk claims that the current literature on King Jr's history is still small and has some gaps that ought to get filled (p. 347). He wraps up the article by illustrating King's many successes and throwing light on the places where some differed and contributed to his murder.
