Social Justice, Cultural Diversity, and Human Dignity Name Institution Date of submission I have interests in undertaking the online program since I have several commitments in various areas and occupations. I am intending to accomplish issues and tasks from my desktop besides proceeding with my routine working program. Besides interests in schooling, I have many several commitments. I have to secure time besides my normal working hours; I will secure sufficient time to enhance effective correspondence to the assigned curricular obligations. I have the capability to accomplish the vice; however, I have no much time. My proficiency in computer and technological skills will facilitate my learning through the online program. Secondly, I have sufficient research skills that will enhance comprehension of the assigned tasks and study materials. Thus, I will be able to understand effectively without close supervision. Due to my tight schedule in work, studying online gives me an opportunity to quench my academic thirst without necessarily interrupting my work. We live in a world full of injustices and discrimination. These discriminations are based on gender, religion, ethnicity, and race among other social issues. There need to be people who commit themselves to ending the vice of discrimination and embark on equality for all. We need people to make the world a place that can accommodate everyone despite of their gender, social class, or ethnicity. As a MSW I intend to fight for equality, and help the less privileged people fight for their rights. I intend to be a part of the fight to attain a dream world in which all people have equal opportunity to a good life despite of their various differences. Having come from a family of an ex-soldier in Vietnam, my personal experiences have greatly influenced my view on social injustices. My father was a Vietnam veteran suffering from posttraumatic stress disorder. He was extremely violent and often abused us both physically and verbally. We lived in Pennsylvania in a secluded house, which belonged to our grandfather. Living in extreme poverty and victims of abuse, we often reached to the teachers and other figures of authority to help us cope with our problem. Our pleas were ignored as our father served as a school committee member despite of his actions. I was threatened that further enquiries into this matter would lead to us being separated with our mother and I, therefore, gave up on the matter. In my childhood, I had to face the same fear of going home and meeting the man who supposedly was my protector. As a child I could have benefited most if I had a person to help us fight for our rights to safety. My childhood would have been much different if someone had helped me fight the social injustices against us. Influenced by my childhood experiences I vowed to help other less privileged people attaining getting justice if have an opportunity. I work to help in fighting poverty, help the post-war victims adapt to their new lives and deal with their trauma and most importantly end domestic violence that is a common vice in the modern society. We live in a world where people from different regions, cultures, and backgrounds have come together in various platforms to form the global village. People from different cultures come together to interact in various platforms in life. However, this diversity has been a source for discrimination and social hatred between people as some people view their cultures as superior to others. I believe that our greatest strengths as a society lie in our diversity. Our diverse cultures complement each other help in introducing variety into the society. As a community we should work to embracing our different cultures that will help us in forming a strong community fabric and improving our society. I am married to a man from Romania and our different cultures is the most interesting part of our marriage. Human dignity means different things to different people. Despite our different interpretations of human dignity, we all agree that it has to do with respect to human life. As a society, we have to encourage value and respect life.
