Orthodontic Treatment Experience That Sparked Interest in Dentistry
Please rewrite/ paraphrase/ edit my paragraphs that talks about my orthodontic treatment experience that inspires me to pursue a career in dentistry.
Recognizing my insecurity, my parents took me to an orthodontist when I was 12. Much to our surprise, the doctor explained after taking a good look at my X-ray films: “Not all underbites can be corrected with braces alone”- that I would need a jaw surgery when I’m older. For the longest time, I naively believed that braces alone would be enough to grant me the smile of my dreams in a matter of years. I sat terrified as my orthodontist portrayed how an oral surgeon would dislodged my jaws, adding a few screws and plates to correct their alignments. Discovering that achieving my desired smile would require more time than expected was disheartening, yet the doctor’s words piqued my curiosity.
As an impatient child eager to get her teeth aligned as soon as possible, my brain was filled with questions. What made my case so special from others that I would need to wait that long. Why were my jaws affected? Are there other solutions that don't involve this surgery? It was a truly remarkable experience to witness firsthand the incredible impact the work of my orthodontist can have on enhancing people's smiles, restoring their confidence, and boosting their self-esteem. That profound moment served as my definitive answer to the question of why I want to pursue a career in dentistry - where my dental care can help give others the confidence and pride I felt coming with a bright and healthy smile, while being able to develop personal relationships with my patients over the years of treatment.
As a curious youngster yearning to align my teeth, my mind was teeming with questions. What made my situation so extraordinary that I had to wait that long? Why were my jaws impacted? Were there any alternatives to the procedure? His continual assurances that the hold-up would eventually be worth it alleviated my trepidation. Still, his explanation of the process and how it would culminate in the most satisfactory result for my smil...
